Zetta Genomics and certification — efficient, effective and compliant

Genomic data is the most ‘personal’ of personal data. As the blueprint of who and what we are, it has profound personal implications — most obviously in terms of our health, but also encompassing factors that can include employment, finance and wellbeing.
As Zetta Genomics pioneers the management of this data, and the insights that can be derived from it, we are deeply aware of our responsibilities and obligations to ensure the safety and security of the genomic data we and our customers manage.
ISO 27001
Zetta Genomics works to ISO/IEC 27001 — the global gold standard for information security management systems (ISMS). It provides a robust framework to establish, implement, maintain and continually improve our and our customers’ data security.
As we embed ISO/IEC 27001, our customers can have confidence in our data security strategies, systems and processes — both within Zetta Genomics and our XetaBase tertiary analysis platform.
With the ability to identify, assess and mitigate information security risks to a global standard, we and our customers demonstrate proactive risk management related to data breaches, cyberattacks and other security incidents. It is a commitment that is critical for our research, CRO, pharma and healthcare customers — working in sectors that demand complete and comprehensive regulatory compliance.
ISO/IEC 27001 is a clear demonstration of Zetta Genomics’ proactive approach to data safety and security — including business continuity. This, in turn, strengthens the value of our customers’ products and services — bringing competitive advantage over those from non-certified companies.
Even without these benefits, Zetta Genomics would still pursue ISO/IEC 27001. It is a proven and powerful framework that drives efficiency and effectiveness — supporting document policies, procedures and controls for managing information — that helps to drive our and our customers’ business goals.
UKCA marking
Above and beyond ISO/IEC 27001, Zetta Genomics also works to UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) marking. Introduced in late 2020, it is a mark that demonstrates Zetta Genomics and XetaBase meet the UK’s high health, safety and environmental standards. Broadly speaking, UKCA is equivalent to the ‘Conformité Européenne’ (CE) marking within the European single market.
UKCA marking adds another layer of scrutiny, security and confidence — assuring customers that Zetta Genomics meets UK standards, conforms to UK regulation and is legal for sale in the UK market.
