XetaBase 1.8.0 Release Notes

1. Improvements

For the XetaBase 1.8.0 release we have been focussed on improving the functionality of the
product, making it easier to use and more secure, helping us move towards providing a fully
certified product which can be used in a clinical setting.

The key improvements we have made include:

  • Adding Pharmacogenomics data to CellBase
  • Rebuilding the REST API Documentation site within IVA
  • Enabling an extension system as part of IVA, which introduces an Enterprise version
    of IVA
  • Aligning bug fixes made in patch releases delivered during the development of this
    release (1.6.3.1 and 1.7.1)

1.1 OpenCGA version 2.10.0 and Enterprise OpenCGA Version 1.8.0 

The key functionality we have added includes: 

  • Security patching for Debian 10 and ensuring compatibility with Kubernetes version 1.25

1.2 CellBase version 5.6.0, Data Release version 5

The key functionality we have added includes: 

  • Loading Pharmacogenomics data into CellBase, using data supplied via PharmGKB
  • Implementing increased testing, including reviewing and updating the Unit tests currently in place

1.3 IVA version 2.10.0 

The key functionality we have added includes: 

  • Rebuilding the REST API Documentation site within IVA
  • Enabling an extension system as part of IVA, which introduces an Enterprise version of IVA (version 1.8.0)

2. Bug Fixes:

There were no specific bug fixes as part of this release, however all bug fixes made as part of the 1.6.3.1 and 1.7.1 releases were added to this release as well.

3. Future Improvements:

Improvements which may come to future XetaBase updates include: 

  • We will make further patch releases to ensure the 1.8.0 major version is aligned with any patch releases made before the 1.9.0 release goes out.
    • For this we are planning a 1.8.1 release to include the fixes made as part of the 1.6.4 and 1.7.2 patch releases
  • In the upcoming major releases we are aiming to further enhance the product by:
    • Delivering the next interaction of our Clinical Variant DataBase
    • Make IVA more user friendly
    • Build out an Event driven system, both internally and externally
    • Continuing to increase the test coverage
    • Continuing to remove dependencies and patch any security issues
    • Update the versions of third party software that is used within the product
